The Pioneers of Hartville Series
Roy P. Wise published a series of short historical fiction articles in The Hartville News, Hartville, Ohio, in 1936. There were a series of eleven articles, the first of which was originally published on Friday July 31, 1936. The articles were reprinted in The Hartville News between 2009 and 2010. About the Author
Roy P. Wise (right) was born February 1, 1907 in Akron, Ohio. He was a lifetime resident of the North Canton and Hartville areas, and was a 1932 graduate of Manchester College. He worked as an engineering employee of the Hoover Company for 35 years before retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, Hartville AARP, Hartville Senior Citizens, former member of the Akron Yacht Club, and a retired member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he served as Captain. He died November 24, 2004.
