Jacob Gibbel, 87, of Greenville, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Rest Haven. Mr. Gibbel was born in Burkes County, PA on January 4, 1922, the son of the late Jacob D. and Lizzie A. (Hosetter) Gibbel. He was a member of the Palestine Old Brethren Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator at Miller Brothers. He was the widower of Mary Anna (Brumbaugh) Gibbel who died October 24, 2007, also preceded in death by a brother Rufus Gibbel, 2 sisters Mae Meyers and Amy Kegerries. Jacob is survived by a daughter Dixie Heisey and husband Duane of Pendleton, IN; a son Richard Gibbel and wife Barbara of West Milton; 5 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum with Tom Royer officiating. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday 5 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
